28week 5 day Ultrasound Pics :)!

I still haven't been able to scan the pics, but I tried to take pictures of the ultrasounds with my cell phone and they didnt come out too bad. Not as good as if I had scanned them, but at least they are better than nothing! :)! Now we can share the joy of seeing our beautiful baby boy with all of you!
Explanation: This first pic is of Brayden's face, top of his head is to the right, with his chin to the left. If you look closely you can see his little nose and his little mouth, and then, if you look in the middle, you can see his eye. There is a little black line under his eye, but thats not his eye, the line above it is, and if you look REALLY close, you can see his little eyebrow :)! (I think the little black line is just an emphasis on how chubby his cheeks are!) Isn't he PRECIOUS?! Look at those cheeks!
Explanation: This one is of Brayden's profile! Once again, the top of his head is to the right, and his chin to the left, and his face is facing upwards. It's hard to tell on this picture of the US, but on the actual US you can see his cute little nose pretty clearly :)!

Childbirth Class

Today we had our 2nd childbirth class, which was SO much fun! We got to go downstairs to the nursery and there was a little baby boy in there! He was a big little guy, weighing 9lbs and 6 oz! He was SO cute and seeing a fresh little newborn got Mike and I even more excited for Brayden to finally get here! Even though we arent delivering at Pleasant Valley, it was great to see the birthing rooms and room we would be staying in, since they are so similar to the ones at St. Johns! We'll do our tour at St. John's at the end of June!

Anyways, we had another fun experience today at class, or fun for me! Mike got to wear the sympathy belly to let him feel what its like (sort of) to be pregnant! Our teacher got a picture of him, and she had told us the week before to bring an extra maternity t-shirt, and I brought the one he was wearing, poor guy, had to wear purple! ;)! He was such a great sport though! When he was all done wearing it, he said it made it harder to breathe and made him feel like he had to pee more, at least he got a little taste of it! But I told him, he didnt get the joy of being able to feel Brayden kick!

Anyways, here is the picture of the two preggy parents to be ;)!

For those of you waiting for ultrasound pictures, we are working on it! Our scanner is still packed away, and I am trying to see where I can scan them, we'll get them up as soon as we can!

Our Little Chunky Monkey :)

We just got done with our 2nd genetic ultrasound which was so much fun! Brayden is growing and thriving and is right on track! Everything is normal and healthy!! His heartbeat was 158 bpm which was great, and we got to listen to his heartbeat, to the amniotic fluid, and to the umbilical cord too :)! It was so cute, because everytime we would be listening, we would hear a loud THUD and Brayden would kick during it :)! Our active little boy! Another cute thing, is when we were looking at him on the screen, we got to see him yawn :), too precious for words!
Another thing that no one can deny is that we're feeding him well ;)! Our little man is quite the chunk! Average weight at this stage in pregnancy is around 2 1/2 pounds, and Brayden weighs 3.1!!!! I'll talk to our normal Dr. next week about it just to make sure I dont need to do anything special but our perinatologist didn't say anything bad about it! He's just a big boy :)!

We got a few pictures of his face, two regular ones and one profile one! You can see his cute chubby cheeks and we think he is starting to look like his daddy! I think he just might have his Daddy's nose, yay! It's hard to tell in the u/s photos but easier to tell when we were watching the u/s being done! We shall see!!!
Unfortunately our little man didnt want to move around and help out the technician today, and we weren't able to get a 3d picture! His face was apparently pushed up against the placenta and that made them unable to do it! We have another followup appt in 4 weeks, so hopefully we'll get some good ones then!

Thanks to everyone for all your prayers, please keep them coming!

Casey's Visit!

Our good friends, Casey and Joey, moved last Sept/Oct to North Carolina where they bought their first house :)! We're so happy for them but miss them dearly! Casey was able to come out just a couple of weeks ago for a work conference and we were able to get together for dinner with two of our other girlfriends Kelli, and Melissa and Melissa's almost 1year old daughter Madelyn! We had a great time getting together and catching up and taking pictures! Here are a few shots from the night! Enjoy!

Updates!

We're having a GREAT weekend, trying to keep cool, and hope all of you out there are enjoying yourselves as well!
First things first, we had our Brayden checkup on Friday and everything went great! We got to hear his strong little heartbeat again, my favorite part of the appointment :). Brayden was dancing during the appt too, I love it that he has been even more active lately! They checked my blood pressure which was normal, my weight, which I gained just the right amount, checked the size of my uterus, which is right on track, and off we went! I like it when we have appointments and nothing is wrong, praise God!
We have our next and I believe final perinatologist appt next Friday where we get our fancy ultrasound done again, so next weekend, be looking for a post on that! Please keep Brayden in your prayers that he is developing right on track and is as healthy as can be!
We are now 28 weeks along, just 12 weeks to go, that's only 3 months! Seems forever and right around the corner at the same time!! Mike and I went window shopping yesterday, just at all the cute baby stuff, and bought our little man a couple of small things which is always a blast!
We had our childbirth class yesterday too. It was great! There are only 3 couples in there, including us. One of the ladies is due in 3 weeks, and the other one in 7! I couldnt imagine doing it that close to my due date and I am glad I have so much time to read all the information they gave us! We had our first experience watching a live birth (well, Mike's first) and I am not sure if that calmed any fears, or made them worse ;)! We learned a lot about labor, the different phases, and started learning relaxation and breathing techniques! I guess they worked for me, because at the end of the class when we were lying down practicing them with the lights off, I fell asleep! Haha!
That's about it for now, lots of love to everyone!
P.S. For those of you who have been wondering, the 2nd Narnia movie is excellent and we both highly recommend it! It does have some violence in it, but I think its pretty much appropriate for all ages!!! Can't wait for the next one!

SO Proud of Daddy!

A couple of months ago I posted a blog that Mike was receiving an award and medal called the NAM (Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal) and on Thursday, they finally had his ceremony and gave it to him, I am SO proud! Even though I knew what the medal stood for, reading what they said about him on his award made me so emotional, I am SO blessed to be married to such a wonderful and honorable man!

Child-Birth Classes

For the next three Saturdays Mike and I will be attending our Childbirth classes at Pleasant Valley Hospital! Kind of neat that we get to go to the classes in the Hospital where I, Laura, was delivered!! We're really excited and looking forward to them! I'm getting anxious now that I have started my third trimester and I am ready to get all the information I can, Mike is too!

Then next month we have our tour of the Hospital I will be delivering at, St. John's in Oxnard, and also I have a Breastfeeding class the same night Mike has a Daddy Bootcamp class, both on the base! Things are getting even more exciting! Just wanted to let you all know! We go in for a regular Brayden and Mommy checkup tomorrow, we'll let you know how it goes!

Chronicles of Narnia; Prince Caspian

We're so excited! The 2nd Chronicles of Narnia movie comes out tomorrow! We are actually going to see it at the very first showing, MIDNIGHT tonight! We know we wont be able to go and do that kind of stuff much longer, so we are going to enjoy it while we can!! Hope its not too loud for our little Brayden!

Camping Pictures!

We took over 200 pictures when we went camping this past weekend! I was able to cut out like 30 pictures, but just couldnt bare cutting out anymore, so instead of a slideshow, or posting pictures, I put them all up for everyone to view on Picasa Web Albums! That way you can all scroll through them at your leisure and save the ones you like if you want too! Let us know what you think!!!

Mother's Day Card :)

I was so blessed to have people think of me this year on Mother's Day and received so many cards and texts and phone calls, etc, thank you all! I got one card from my sissy, who always seems to find the perfect cards and I just couldnt wait to share it with all of you, here is what it says...
"Hi Mommy! Even though I haven't been born yet, I wanted to tell you that I can hardly wait to see you and play with you. But in the meantime just know that I already love you and know you'll make a really great mom, Love Brayden (she wrote his name in) P.S. Who's the guy who's always patting you on the stomach saying "Helloooo in there?" What a goofball! Happy Mother's Day (a little bit early)!"
Isn't that adorable? We can't wait to meet our little Brayden in just a couple more months! Less than 90 days to go! WAHOO!!

To All The Moms Out There

My Mother-In-Law played this song for me this weekend and it's one of the most beautiful songs I have heard in a long time. I was so blessed that she shared it with me and that it made her think of me because the excitement of Brayden being here just increases every single day. After she played the song for me and Mike, she said something to us that my own mom has said to me before. She said that she may not have done anything else big or memorable in her life, but that she raised three beautiful children that she is so proud of, which I believe is one of the greatest callings of all...
I hope you all are blessed by these lyrics as well! This song is called "One Heartbeat At a Time" By Steven Curtis Chapman...
You’re up all night with a screaming baby
You run all day at the speed of life
And every day you feel a little bit less
like the beautiful woman you are
So you fall into bed when you run out of hours
and you wonder if anything worth doing got done
Well maybe you just don’t know
or maybe you’ve forgotten
That you, you are changing the world
one little heartbeat at a time
Making history with every touch and every smile
Oh you, you may not see it now
but I believe that time will tell
how you, you are changing the world
one little heartbeat at a time
With every, “I know you can do it”and every tear that you kiss away
So many little things that seem to go unnoticed
they’re just like the drops of rain
over time, they become a river
And you, you are changing the world
one little heartbeat at a time
Making history with every touch and every smile
Oh you, you may not see it nowbut I believe that time will tell
how you, you are changing the world
one little heartbeat at a time
You’re beautiful, so beautiful
how you’re changing the world, yeah you’re changing the world
You, you are changing the world
one little heartbeat at a time
Making history with every touch and every smile
Oh you, you may not see it now
but I believe that time will tell
how you, you are changing the world
I believe that you, you are changing the world
one little heartbeat at a time

We're Hoo-oooome!

We had a fantastic trip up north this past weekend to go camping with Mike's family, and, our surprise guests, My Mom and Step-Dad :)!!! We drove up Wednesday night, got to Westwood on Thursday morning, slept, looked at a couple of houses, and then later on that afternoon drove up to Burney Falls where we set up camp! Sometime Friday afternoon, Mike walks up to me with a brown paper bag, after walking away for a bit to who-knows-where. I was confused, but looked inside, and saw Checkers (look at the link to the side for the Checkers blog if you have no clue what I am talking about ;) ) and instantly knew my Mom had to be there somewhere, and then she started running towards me! What a FANTASTIC Mother's Day and Birthday gift! I havent seen her and my stepdad since December!!!!!! We had a great time all weekend long with all our our family! Mike, my mom, Mike's brother Matt, Mike's sister Katie, Mike's nephew Elijah and I all ended up making the Burney Falls Loop Hike, over a mile on Saturday! Everyone else had done it the day before, and I was determined to make it, and I did :) It kicked my butt, but it was the most beautiful place Mike and I have ever seen! Pictures will be up later! We went to the lake as well, and had a blast playing games and telling ghost stories at night by the campfire. Our trip home was very eventful for those of you who dont know yet, but that is a story for a later time. Pictures most likely wont be up today because Mike and I intend to crash as soon as we get home from work this afternoon!
Thank you all for all the Mother's Day wishes as well, it was a totally memorable and wonderful Mother's day for sure, and I cant wait till next year's!!!!

It's a funny experience...

....when you look straight down when you are standing up, and cant see your feet anymore!, of course, all I have to do is either bend down a little bit or stick my feet out and I can see them just fine, but not when I look straight down!

....when your very much innie belly button, is totally an outtie, and shows no matter what you wear! I used to have a VERY sensitive belly button, I couldnt touch around it without it hurting/being uncomfortable, but now that it has "popped" it isn't sensitive at all!

....when you start to develop that little "pregnancy line" on your belly that some women get...where does it come from? why do we get it? hmmm...

I'm sure there are a lot more "funnies" I could think of, but those were the ones that were on my mind for now!

We're Leaaaaving.....

...not on a jet plane, but in a car nonetheless!
Yup, we're heading out again on another famous Kincaid Road-Trip! We're going up north by up where Mike's parents live to Burney Falls to go camping for the weekend with his family! Here's the website if you are interested in looking at where we will be! http://www.burney-falls.com/
We're really excited and looking forward to it! We've been busy packing the last couple of days and are heading out straight after work today! We wont be home until late on Sunday, but I will update sometime next week for pictures!
Thanks for all the Birthday love from everyone! I had the best birthday I have had yet for sure :)! I really appreciated all the cards/presents/texts/phone calls/emails, etc! My last birthday before I am a Mommy :)!!!!!

Our SeaWorld Trip!

Here are some of our MANY pictures! Sorry there are so many I couldnt decide which ones to put up! I loved them all! Even though the pics are great, they dont do the whole experience justice at all, we had such a great time, and Brayden kicked a TON the whole Shamu show and dining with Shamu too, we think he knew how excited Mommy was! We cant wait to take him when he is older!!

We had...

...the time of our lives yesterday!!
Oh my gosh, I could write such a huge blog about what a fantastic time we had but I dont have that much time here at work. We got home late last night and only took a second to look at the pictures on our laptop in bed, so I havent downloaded them to the internet yet, they will be coming later! We went to the Dolphin show, the Sea Lion show, the Pets Rule show, and of course the SHAMU/BELIEVE show (which was spectacular). I learned even more about Orcas yesterday, and I thought I knew it all! We had a great time looking at all the other exhibits like the Polar Bears, and Sharks, and Penguins, etc.
And...
My amazing husband surprised me yet again and took me to have Dinner with Shamu!! Actually, his name wasn't Shamu, it was actually Sumar, but that's what the event was called! We had a great and very yummy dinner, for a whole hour in a private area at a pool side table with Sumar swimming and playing and posing literally 3 feet away from us! If I had been allowed too, I could have reached out my hand and literally TOUCHED him! Mike and I had such a wonderful/memorable/romantic/and exciting time and that was just the BEST icing ever on the cake; my birthday cake ;)! I can't wait to get all the pictures up!!

Daddy's Dream Pet

Here's a picture I captured on my cell phone last night of Mike holding his "dream pet"! He used to have snakes growing up and has always loved them. He really wants to own a Red-Tail Boa one day (which is what kind of snake this is) and we found out they had one at the local animal shelter up for adoption that Mike wanted to go see! She was 5 feet long and quite heavy, but really sweet, for a snake! Mike really enjoyed holding her, but I figured I was carrying enough weight with our little Brayden and decided to just "pet" her! Thought you would all enjoy the pic, just ignore the animal shelter staff in the background, she was trying to get a closer look at the snake's face!!
We have another appt for Brayden this afternoon, so we'll give you all an update at some point this weekend! Mike has watch tomorrow, so Brayden and I are going to head out to cheer on Gregory at his baseball game and then on Sunday, we're hoping to go to Sea World as an early Birthday present for me! :)!
Have a fun, safe, and blessed weekend!
