Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you all are having a fun, safe, and blessed Thanksgiving today! We have so much to be thankful for as Americans and this truly is a wonderful holiday to take the time to focus on all of our many blessings! This year Mike and I have the added blessing of Brayden, who has brought us so much more joy than we could have ever imagined! He is healthy, and happy, and just such a love of a little boy! We're so thankful for each other, for our families, and for Jesus along with many other things!

We just made it up here to Westwood at around midnight last night, so I will post more later on, along with pictures of Brayden's first Thanksgiving!! Enjoy it!

Memories...

I am watching the Alvin and the Chipmunk the movie, which came out last year around this time of year and it brought back good memories! Mike and I went and saw this movie last year on Christmas day! Not only was it so much fun to go to a movie on Christmas Day with my sweetie pie, but it was extra special because I had had horrible morning sickness ever since finding out I was pregnant a few weeks prior, so it was my first outing in quite awhile! Besides the fact that Mike lost his brand new wallet that night at the theater and we never found it, it was such a great time together and a great movie! Can't wait for my guy to get home from work!

4 month Dr's visit

Brayden had his 4 month old checkup today with Dr. Gold and everything went great! He is now 13 lbs, 3.5 ozs and 25 inches long. Our Dr doesnt tell us the percentiles but he did tell us that Brayden is growing perfectly! Both Dr. Gold and the nurses were amazed by how much he moves, he seriously cannot lay or sit still at all, always gotta be wiggling and giggling! They all got a kick out of it and he was talking up a storm too! I asked about feeding Brayden rice cereal, and because he is in great weight and height and because of his sensitive tummy along with the fact that Mike has such a serious allergy to fish (I guess any parent allergy heightens the chance a baby will have an allergy) our Dr really wants us to wait to introduce any type of food until Bray is 6 months old, which is fine by me! I was excited to get out those baby spoons and actually get to feed him food with Mike, but its just something we get to keep looking forward too! Time is already going by way too fast, and he'll be 6 months before we know it!
Another funny little fact is that Brayden's feet are still turning in more than we, and our pediatrician, would like (something he has had since birth). We're still working on massaging them and turning them outwards whenever we get the chance, but Dr. Gold told me this morning that we need to get some regular baby shoes, and just put them on Brayden's little feeties....but....on the wrong feeties! Yup, our little guy is going to look so funny with his right shoe on his left foot and vice versa, but he's so cute, he can pull it off ;)! This is supposed to help them turn out even more! We're trying to do what we can when he is this young so that he doesnt need any corrective measures taken when he gets older! Hope it works! Once we get him some shoes that fit his little feeties, we'll get plenty of pictures to share with you!
The munchkin did get 4 shots today and one oral vaccine and he did great. He only cried for a second and then started smiling and talking again. Of course, as soon as we got home, he started feeling the affects of the shots and getting fussy so I gave him some tylenol and he is resting hopefully comfortably! That's it for now! Have a good day!

4 Months Old!

Our little guy wants so much to sit up all on his own, and to crawl too! If you look at the second photo, he is leaning forward which he loves to do now, and grab on to those feeties! He's definetely going through a growth spurt and has been awake a lot more during the day and is eating about 6 oz at every feeding now! Can't wait to see how much he weighs tomorrow!
When he gets his tummy time, Brayden is doing so great at holding his head up and moving his arms and legs! Once he can get up on those hands and knees he'll be all over the place and boy oh boy will we be in trouble!
He's always talking to us and is "carrying on conversations" more and more, letting us talk, and then talking himself, so cute! He does this squeal when he gets really excited that is just hilarious too! So many fun little things about our little Brayden, too many to mention!
In this last picture, I can always get Bray to smile, but he's gotta be looking at us, so there's one of those precious smiles and chubby cheeks while looking at mommy instead of the camera! I like getting these "month old" photos in onesies so that you can all see his chubby little legs! Overall, he's doing great and we're just super excited to start our holiday season as a family of 3! More updates tomorrow after his Dr's appt!

Updates!

I've noticed I have posted a ton of pictures on here lately but no real facts or updates, so here we go!
The three of us have been doing just fine, getting ready for the move which is now only 13 days away! We've pretty much packed all that we can for right now, we've scheduled the truck, and now we're just waiting! We haven't been up to a whole lot lately, just been homebodies, enjoying our time together when Mike isn't at work!
I'll start with the littlest Kincaid for a more informative update :) --Brayden is doing great! Hard to believe he will be 4 months old already in exactly one week! He is so much fun! He continues to master the art of rolling over from his tummy to his back, though he seems to like to roll more to his left side than his right. He also, in just the last couple of days has started to arch his back more in what looks to be preparation for rolling from his back to his tummy! He lays on his back and gets his feet positioned and arches. It's really cute! He does it sporadically and I dont think it will be long at all before he is rolling both ways, especially with how much he is constantly moving! He's still a big sleeper which we know to enjoy while we can! He sleeps anywhere from 9-10 hours a night, takes 2 bigger naps during the day, and then cat naps here and there. Another new thing he has taken to is being flown around in the air (gently of course). He loves it when we have a hand on each of his sides and hold him up so he can look down on us. He gets the biggest, goofiest grin on his face and just starts laughing! He still loves his playmat, his swing, reading time, being sung too, and all of his various toys. He still loves bathtime and has learned how to splash us with kicking his feet and legs around. Mike and I do have one concern....that we are raising a conceited little boy ;)! Brayden LOVES the mirror!! If he is crying, or grumpy for whatever reason, 9 times out of 10 taking him to the mirror in the bathroom and showing him himself will get a smile out of him. What can we say? He knows he is a cutie pie!
Mike is doing good too :). We're not looking forward to our time apart, but thankful we got this extra time together and super excited for what is coming; getting out of the Navy!! He's been busy at work and has had watch one or two times a week which is a drag, but everyday is one day closer to being done! He had his physical this morning for his getting out of the Navy preparation and so far, so good. He still have some testing left to do for his high blood pressure and other various things, but he is on his way! We are still waiting for all of the paperwork to be submitted for his Physical Evaluation Board concerning his fish allergy and possible medical discharge but we're staying hopeful and prayerful! He's been busy here at home getting everything ready to move, and of course, having plenty of quality time with Brayden, who just adores him to pieces. There's no time like Daddy time for Brayden :)! Mommy just doesnt play like Daddy does, haha! Boys will be boys!
And nothing is new with me, just staying home with the little guy, being very thankful that I am able to stay home with him and experience all the new milestones he reaches and spend all this time with him! And very very thankful to Mike for working so hard to make that possible :)!
We're ready for the holiday season, that is for sure! We already watched a Christmas movie this past weekend, and window shopped through the Christmas section at a couple of stores, just enjoying walking around all the decorations and such! Plus I made my big splurge purchase and saw the cutest "My 1st Christmas" onesie at the dollar bins at Target for Brayden :)! The holidays take on a whole new joy with having a child, plus having a big kid as a husband!!! We can't wait! Love to all!

Happy Election Day!

It's election day today and I am so excited to get out and vote and I know Mike is too! So many Americans take for granted the ability we have to vote and make a difference in our country. It's a privilege to be able to vote, a privilege fought hard for by many men and women of our military, one that many countries and many people have never had. We are so blessed to be able to live in AMERICA, the land of the free (thanks to the brave!), and to have a voice; please let it be heard!!
Here are a couple quotes about voting:
"Always vote for principle. Though you may vote alone, you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost." ~John Quincy Adams
"Bad officials are elected by good people who do not vote." ~ Andrew Lack
"To make democracy work, we must be a notion of participants, not simply observers. One who does not vote has no right to complain." ~Louis L'Amour
And lastly, I will leave you with this Bible verse (shared with me by Elissa!):
Psalm 146: 3-4 "Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing."
No matter who wins the election and becomes the President, God already knows and is in complete control! To Him and Him alone be the glory!

We were at Target this weekend, and I love the dollar bins; could get lost in there! Anyways, we saw this cute little winter cap and mittens and just had to get them for Brayden! Now he is all ready for the move up north and for the winter weather! Too cute!
