Updates

Good Morning everyone!

I thought it was about time for another Kincaid family update since a couple of things have happened this week that are noteworthy!

First off, no, we still have no closed on our house, but we are hopeful :)! We went in to sign all the papers on Thursday and then found out Saturday morning that the lender hadnt sent in all the paperwork we needed to sign. Thankfully, our title company was able to overnight the paperwork we did sign back to them, and therefore, we're praying that the few papers we complete tomorrow morning can be faxed! Also, because of our time constraint for Mike having to go back down south (next weekend), our lender has told us that it is a possibility that on the day we get funded we might be able to get the keys from the seller. We would close 1-2 days later, but they are trying to help us out so we can actually move in before Mike has to leave again. We're praying that that happens; it's all up to the seller and we're hoping he complies! That's all the housing updated I have for now, but hopefully more will be coming soon!

And now for the bad news :(. As you all know, Mike and I are animal LOVERS and we love our dogs to pieces. The first dog we got, Bear, will be turning 3 years old this May. We had noticed this past week that Bear was wincing every now and then, or yelping in pain, but we couldnt figure out from what, so we decided to take him to the vet. We were relieved when she was checking him over and didn't see anything wrong, but our relief was short-lived. She suggested we have a couple x-rays done of his back and hips, since larger dogs like boxers can have problems there. After she reviewed the x-rays, we found out that Bear has a condition called Spondylosis. Basically, Bear has a weak back and his body has tried to heal itself unsuccessfully. He has grown extra cartilidge and bone, kind of forming an extra spine, underneath his spine. This causes him to lock up, have joint stiffness, etc. If you can call this a good thing, Bear's spondylosis is pretty advanced for such a young dog, so it shouldnt get worse. However, it wont get better. There isnt a surgery we can do, there is only anti-inflammatory and pain pills that we can give him :(. He also has the beginning of hip dysplaysia, which our vet said, shouldnt get worse until he is an older dog. So basically, we just have to keep him from being too rambunctious, and give him the pain pills when he is having a bad day. Poor pup :(.

The last bits of news are: Brayden is doing pretty good. He is looking less and less like a baby to me these days and all the more like a little boy; how fast they grow! He has been a little sick the past couple of days, just a cough and kind of cranky. I also noticed yesterday that he wasnt eating as much, so if that's not better by next week, I'm going to take him into the doctor.
And, I'm sick :(. I started feeling bad on the way home from Chico on Friday and yesterday had pretty bad aches all over, and today, I'm pretty sure I couldnt talk if I tried. I think I may have the beginnings of strep-throat, so I am trying to drink lots of fluids, and keep my face far away from Brayden's and Mike's. Bummer, huh?

That's all for now! I'll get pictures up again soon!

Be Heard!

Mike's Mom sent me an email to this website talking about a piece of legislation that President Obama is about to sign that will force pro-life doctors and nurses to perform abortions despite their pro-life stance...
There is a petition that you can sign on this website:http://www.beheardproject.com/Default.aspx
Here is the information from the website:
You have strong convictions, but President Obama says that doesn’t matter. He’s ready to rescind the Conscience Clause. The Conscience Clause was implemented by former President George W. Bush to give physicians and nurses the choice to act according to their conscience — to not participate in abortion procedures if it conflicts with their personal convictions. If President Obama makes this damaging move, if he reverses the Conscience Clause, pro-life doctors and nurses will be forced into performing abortion procedures, despite their individual beliefs. The announcement was made Friday, March 6, 2009. Since the official announcement was made, the public now has 30 days to file comments with the White House ... so we’ve got 30 days to make our voices heard at the White House.Make a difference in this nation and stand for the freedom to act according to your conscience. Sign the online “Petition to Protect Pro-Life Doctors” below now. It will be delivered and filed at the White House no later than April 8, 2009. Get the word out now. BE HEARD!

House Prayers!

We were not able to get in to the title company and sign our documents yesterday :(. We are doing out best to keep smiles on our faces and remain hopeful despite the fact that every time we have received good news in the past couple of weeks, it has promptly been followed by bad news. We were so excited to hear that the documents had gotten to the title company yesterday, only to find out that the person we had spoken too was misinformed, and that they are expecting the documents today.

We know all things happen in God's timing and not ours and we know that we will get into our house eventually and we have to remain so incredibly thankful for that! Just please pray with us that we will be able to get the documents signed in a timely fashion, and if it's God's will, that it will happen in time so that Mike is able to move us into the house before he goes back down to southern Cali. We'll keep you updated!

Decorations

While we're waiting to get into our house I've been anxiously looking at decorations! We did get good news today that our documents got to the title company and we're crossing our fingers and praying that we are able to get in and sign today, if not, we were told we would for sure be able to sign tomorrow. We're hoping to get the keys on Friday, but it could be Monday. For now, here's a couple house decorations I like...

Neighborhood Scenery

We're getting quite anxious about getting into our house and went for a drive to Chester today to go look at it again and search for the bass fishing pond that our realtor told us was only about a block away! To our surprise, we found two different bodies of water, the first picture, is a creek that is at the end of our culd-a-sac, and the next two pictures are of the bass fishing pond that is just a 2 minute walk from our house! Aren't they beautiful?!

March Storm!

Well April showers bring May flowers, and we aren't quite sure what March snow brings! That's right, we've gotten a little bit of snow today, not enough to stick thanks to the rain earlier in the day, but still snow nonetheless, in MARCH! We had to go out to run errands, and here is Brayden in his little winter cap, those blue eyes are killer huh? Gotta love him and we sure do!

8 months and two days

I caught him mid sentence in this picture above ^, seems like he is always trying to tell us a story!

For the first time since we've had Brayden, I didn't get his monthly pictures done in time! Time got away from me on the 19th, and it really wasnt worth it to me to force Brayden into a onesie before pajamas to take pictures before his bedtime that day, so alas, here are pictures a couple days late! He looks like such a little boy to me in these pictures and really looks more and more like a little boy every day! His Auntie Sarah has deemed his nickname to be "Cheekie" and it seems all too fitting if you look at this last picture :)! 2/3rds of a year down and a ton more fun to come!

8 months!

Happy 8 months Brayden! Another month in the life of our little one has flown by and he is that much closer to being a "big boy"! I dont have long to update, I will write more tomorrow along with posting Brayden's 8 month pictures, which I have yet to take this afternoon. He was looking quite cute in his Marvle character onesie earlier today, unfortunately he had a "blow out" diaper accident and I can't get his pictures in that onesie, like I had hoped too! Oh well, that's what Mommy gets for waiting to take them! I'll get those pictures to you all tomorrow! Hope you are having a good day!

Brings back a very sweet memories of Mike and I's first anniversary of our first date! He was on the Ronald Reagan at the time, but had these roses sent to me, which was SO incredibly romantic! Sacto Trip

Brayden and I have been doing lots of traveling lately and on our most recent trip back to Westwood we stopped in Sacramento to see some of our family. To our surprise, a storm hit the night we got there and we had planned on going up the rest of the way to Westwood on Tuesday but weren't able too because there was so much snow on the mountain, so we stayed thru Thursday, not that anyone minded :)!

Malibu Beach

Brayden and I were able to stay at Emily's malibu beach condo the last weekend we were here in February and had a great time going to the beach with her! We had quite an adventure looking for my keys after I dropped them in the sand though! Thankfully a very nice bystander found them and turned them into the lifeguard :)!
