Baby Kincaid and I had another doctor appointment today that was pretty uneventful!! Just a checkup to see how I was doing. Since I am almost 12 weeks along they decided they could try to hear the baby's heartbeat with the doppler instead of doing a full ultrasound. It took a little while to find it because the little munchkin is sitting pretty low, but I was finally able to hear it. It stayed for a few seconds and then went away. She found it again real quick and then it went away again! I asked her why it was doing that and she told me the baby was moving around in there, so good to know that Mike and I have an active little one on our hands, or in my belly I should say. Another checkup is scheduled for two weeks, until then its just more rest for Mommy and baby ANXIOUSLY waiting for Daddy to come home!

Baby Dance
Another quick exciting story in the lives of the Kincaid family! I went to the doctor again today! I was having some cramping in my lower abdomen and they wanted to get me in just in case because I have been having complications. Sure enough, the cramping was just because my uterus is growing with our little growing baby, but just to do a checkup, my doctor did a quick ultrasound to see the heartbeat. When I have this kind of ultrasound, they dont map the whole thing out, or take measurements or print out pictures, we just look and see the little heartbeat and how the baby is growing!
As soon as she got me all ready and started the ultrasound, I looked at the screen for the heartbeat which I saw right away, beating very quickly! But an extra amazing bonus today was that for the first time, I got to see the baby MOVE! Yup, that's right!!!! As soon as I saw the heartbeat the doctor looked at me and said "Laura look, the baby is moving!" and I was looking and sure enough there were a few little kicks and punches and a wiggly little body! I couldn't believe it!!! This journey just keeps getting more and more beautiful!
I called Mike right afterwards, bummed that he didnt get to see it with me, and he asked me if it was weird to see. Thinking about it, I told him it was, in a good way, just because this little baby is moving inside of me and I can't even feel it yet!! It was truely an amazing experience and I can't wait till Mike is there to share it with me! Hope our little munckin decides to bust a move next ultrasound for Daddy!

Almost 10 weeks Ultrasound Pic!
The top picture is only of the baby and the bottom picture is the baby and the line showing where the baby's heart is, and then also, below, the line showing the heartbeat! Baby is right on track and as I said last time had a heartbeat of 174 bpm!
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Mike is gone for a month which is really hard on all of us, please pray for his safety while he is away, I am still having complications and am still on bedrest so please pray that the complications would be over soon and that baby and I will stay healthy, and last but not least, please pray for the baby to keep growing strong and healthily! Thanks to you all!!

10 Weeks!
So today is 10 weeks that means only 2 more weeks to go till I am through this first trimester! This has been a VERY busy week for us. Mike and I moved out of our house on the base this last Thursday, or rather I should say Mike moved us out since I didn't do any of the work. He stayed here with me at my parents on Thursday and Friday night and left yesterday morning for Fallon, NV. He will be gone for a month and its definetely been a rough last almost 30 hours without him here. It was a very tearful goodbye and hard drive back to my parents here for me. I know that I cant say enough about Mike anytime, but through this first trimester, he has been even more amazing than ever before. He has cooked and cleaned for me, and up after me, tended to my every need, worked hard all day long and then into the night making sure me and the baby were ok, completely understanding of what I am going through, and the greatest source of encouragement and love that I could ever imagine. I know that a child brings married couples closer together and I am definetely already feeling that!!
Ok, baby news this week is exciting! I had my ultrasound this last Thursday, and unfortunately Mike wasnt able to go. Baby Kincaid is doing great so far, is getting so big and has a heartbeat of 174 bpm! This ultrasound was really neat as I could see the umbilical cord, and also, the technician switched the view on the screen so I was able to see the bloodflow. I saw where the blood was where the heart is, and was able to watch it flow through the baby, through the umbilical cord and to the placenta. How anyone could ever see such a miracle and not believe in God is beyond me. It was absolutely amazing to experience and I just wish so much Mike could have been there for it!!! My check up went fine on Friday, and though I am still having spotting, things seem to be getting better and better. I will probably be going in for another checkup tomorrow or Tuesday since I had some problems yesterday, and will keep you all updated!
All our love!

Quote to Share
While I have been sitting on the couch ALL day and night this Saturday, I decided to do a little tiny bit of research on the presidential candidates since I know the election is coming up, and both Mike and I will vote. I am NOT writing this to press my beliefs on ANYONE, in fact, in sharing this, if it creates any problems, or any discussions I feel have gone too far, I will simply take it down. Mike and I both have still not decided who we are going to vote for, but we do know the issues that matter most to us and plan on spending a good deal of time researching the candidate that best represents our views. While looking at different websites tonight, I came across Mike Huckabee's and looked around for awhile. I found the following quote on his page and really enjoyed what he said about faith. I just want to re-itterate for everyone I am not writing my political views on Mike Huckabee one way or another, in fact, he just happens to be the man that said a long quote I agreed with, so I hope I have written this as eloquently as possible and that you dont hesitate to read the following excerpt for any fear of "political-ness"!!!
"The First Amendment requires that expressions of faith be neither prohibited nor preferred. We should not banish religion from the public square, but should guarantee access to all voices and views. We should share and debate our faith, but never seek to impose it. When discussing faith and politics, we should honor the "candid" in candidate - I have much more respect for an honest atheist than a disingenuous believer."
(The next is my favorite part!)
"My faith is my life - it defines me. My faith doesn't influence my decisions, it drives them. For example, when it comes to the environment, I believe in being a good steward of the earth. I don't separate my faith from my personal and professional lives.
Real faith makes us humble and mindful, not of the faults of others, but of our own. It makes us less judgmental, as we see others with the same frailties we have. Faith gives us strength in the face of injustice and motivates us to do our best for "the least of us."
Our nation was birthed in a spirit of faith - not a prescriptive one telling us whether to believe, but one acknowledging that a providence pervades our world."

Baby Update!
Yesterday I had another appt with my wonderful OB, Dr. Ghiai. It was supposed to be just a normal checkup appt however since I am still having some spotting, she decided to forego that, and just do an ultrasound to check the baby's heartbeat. We didnt't get to hear it this time since it was just a quick one, but we were able to see is flickering on the screen! It amazed us how much bigger the baby has gotten in just a couple of weeks! In my pregnancy journal it said that if the baby grew in the first month he or she was alive like he or she is growing now, they would be like 15 ft tall! Just shows how fast he or she is growing!! I am looking forward to finding out in a couple of months just what sex this baby of ours is so I can stop calling the baby he or she, since I dont want to call the baby "it", just seems demeaning to me!
I didnt get to keep a picture this time since it was a quick ultrasound just to check on the baby, but next Thursday I have yet ANOTHER one! Yay! And Friday I have another appt so more info. then as well! My mom is dying for a "belly" pic so I will try to produce one soon, not that I have much to show. I have gained weight, FINALLY, a pound since my last appt so that is a good sign as well. And although most of my pants dont fit comfortably, I dont really have much of a bump, my stomach just feels harder and bloated, yuck, haha! I live in sweatpants these days since I cant really go out and do anything anyways! Ok, enough of my jabbering, sorry no pictures, but more stuff to come!
