UFC 94: Updated!

As many if not most of you know Mike loves the UFC, mixed martial arts fighting and tonight is a very exciting fight card for him, UFC 94, where one of his favorite fighters, Georges St. Pierre, fights one of his least favorite fighters, B.J. Penn. Since most of this blog is about Brayden and occassionally me, I thought I would bring his presenence to the blog and post his predictions for all the fights and then a quick blog later to see how many he got right!

Fight 1. Guida vs Diaz. Mike calls Guida to win.
Fight 2. Machida vs Silva. Mike calls Machida to win.
Fight 3. Bonnar vs. Jones. Mike calls Bonnar to win.
Fight 4. Paryisian vs. Kim. Mike calls Paryisian to win.
Fight 5. Fitch vs. Gono. Mike calls Fitch to win.
Fight 6. St. Pierre vs. Penn. Mike calls St. Pierre to win.

We shall see what happens!!!! I will post after the fights are over!
Updated: The fight card is officially over and I can say that it was one of the best cards we have ever purchased if only for the fact that the last fight, St Pierre vs Penn, was one of the best fights we have ever seen!
Mike was 5 for 6 on his predictions, with the only fight that he called incorrectly being the one between Bonnar and Jones!
Goodnight!

Daddy Video!

The only way I can get videos to work on blogger is to upload them to picasa! So, if you would like to see a video of Mike and Brayden coloring, go ahead and click on the above picture!

Drawing Fun!

Mike, Brayden and I went out to dinner at a local Pizzeria that is out by the Lake. It was our first time ever going there and it was great! We will definetely go ther again! They had a big sheet of paper on the table as a tablecloth, and a glass of crayons so we could pass the time while we waited for our food so we decided to let Brayden try his hand at coloring, Mike got some photos of me with our little guy :)!

Sippy Cup!

When we went to Brayden's 6 month wellness checkup the doctor told us that we can start experimenting with giving Brayden a sippy cup with water in it! He isn't so sure about it yet, likes to suck it in and spit it out (probably because he isn't used to drinking just plain water)! We hold it when we give it to him to drink, but we let him hold it himself just to figure it out and play with it and its so cute :)

Updates!

Yesterday Brayden had his 6 month wellness checkup. We were expecting him to get his shots too, but it turns out we have to go to another office up here for that because the ped.'s office doesnt have enough staff. Brayden is a healthy, "pudgie" little boy :). Yes, his doctor called him pudgie :)! We really like his new pediatrician, she is very nice and takes her time with Brayden and with my questions :).
Something that has been up for debate between Mike and I is Brayden's night time habits. For the last month or so he has been waking up during the night a couple times and eating at least once. Mike said we needed to give him some tough love and let him cry it out a bit since he is definetely eating enough. I, however, didnt mind (too much) getting up with him during the night. Mike won the disagreement with the doctor siding with him :), haha. Brayden had to cry for about 15 minutes this morning at 2:30 am and then fell back asleep. I think I had a harder time then he did, having to let him cry it out ;), he didnt even really "cry" it was more like talking, haha.
Also, Brayden has now decided he doesnt want to nap as much either! Just another sign of how fast time goes and the fact that he is "growing up". He really only naps 1-2 times a day now and he sleeps pretty lightly and not for very long!
That's about it for now! Just wanted to update even though I dont have any new pictures to share! Love to all!

Mohawk

I was having fun with Brayden after bathtime yesterday and decided to do a mohawk with his hair and it turned out too cute! I loved it and so did Mike (and everyone else up here), I think I will have to do it more often!
Also, I LOVED the last picture I posted, with him "standing" on the couch (I swear he is going to walk before he crawls), I just snapped it and have no clue what he is doing with his hands. I can come up with a couple creative captions, but I know you, our friends and family, have quite the imaginations and I am sure you guys will have some good ones too, we'd love you to post them as comments! I will post my own in a couple days if no one steals them first!

Nighttime Snow

It started snowing this evening! It's been a pretty dry winter here, so we are very excited to see the white again! We already have easily over 3 inches, maybe a foot by morning? One can only hope! I took these pictures from our upstairs bedroom window!

Our little boy...

is getting so big! He is 6 months old today! These pictures are from our trip to Sacramento this past week, I haven't taken his 6 month couch shots yet, but I will post those tomorrow! We can't believe how big Brayden is getting, I know we say that every month, just call me a broken record! Brayden is rolling over both ways like a pro, is still working on sitting up, sleeps pretty well throughout the night and on normal schedule sleeps from around 8 at night till 5:30 in the morning, he eats, and sleeps for another couple hours! He naps a few times a day and eats a bottle 5-6 times a day and 2-3 feedings of rice cereal and baby food! He weighs 17 bs 8 oz and is 26 3/4 inches long! We'll be taking him into the pediatrician this week for his 6 month check up :) and shots :(. Brayden loves being in his exersaucer, loves being held, loves laying on the floor playing with his toys, and loves just sitting and swinging himself in his Johnny Jump up. He is just such a joy and such a great and happy baby! We love him so much and cant believe that he is a half year old already!

Happy 1/2 Birthday Brayden!

Sacramento Trip Pictures

FINALLY! Here are most of the pictures I took while Brayden and I were in Fair Oaks/Carmichael visiting family! I didnt put captions on them since there are so many but they are all so adorable! Here are a couple pictures explained that most people wouldn't know the significance of if I didnt explain them!

The stuffed animal duck that Brayden is sitting with in some pictures is named Sixie and is a duck that I gave my Grandma when she was going through chemotherapy. After my Grandma passed away, I told my Grandpa to keep the duck so she could keep him company too!

The red wagon that you see Brayden in in some of the pictures is a red wagon that used to be my mom's as a kid and that both of my nephews have also had their pictures taken in (I'm pretty sure at least!)

The tools/kitchen items that you see used to be my grandparents and great grandparents! I picked out the ones in the pictures to take home with me to put up as decorations in my kitchen someday!
The picture of the metal tool with the wooden handle that has some red coloring is an antique drill that used to be my Great Grandpa's! I didnt take that home but wanted to snap a picture of it since it was so neat!

The blue honda civic is my Grandpa's brand new car that he wanted to take a picture of to share with my siblings and my mom...

And the adorable dog in a lot of the photos is my Aunt and Uncle's English Setter, Doughy!

If you have any questions about any of the other photos, let me know! Hope you all really enjoy these!

Tummy Flu!

Sorry about the delay in getting up all those pictures from Brayden and I's trip down to visit some of our extended family! Mike made it safely up here on Friday night :D only to have both Brayden and I come down with the stomach flu just a couple hours after his arrival :(. Thankfully it was only a 24 hour bug for both of us, Brayden only got sick a couple of times and thankfully I had the worst of it! I told Mike that even though I was sad to be sick right after he got here, I was thankful that God has blessed me with such an amazing husband to be here to take care of us! He took awesome care of both Brayden and I and I honestly have no clue how I could have done it without him! Now we are feeling better and I will post the pictures by tomorrow! Thanks for all the prayers everyone!

Messy Eaters

I am sure we could find a picture like this of Daddy too but Spring (Laura's sister in law) just emailed us some old family pictures and I thought a comparison shot like this would be cute. Brayden definetely is Mike's son and looks SO much like him and has a lot of his mannerisms already too. He does have a couple of Mommy's features like her chubby cheeks and blue eyes but the rest is all Daddy! Still a cute little side by side anyways though!

Please keep Mike in your prayers tomorrow as he is HEADING BACK UP HERE!!! Brayden and I can't wait to have Daddy finally with us again!!!!!!!!!!! He will be leaving in the morning tomorrow and will hopefully be up here by dinner time! We'll be up here together for 2.5 weeks till we head down for Sara and Mike's wedding in early February to visit our family in So Cal!

SURPRISE!

Brayden and I had a little surprise up our sleeves thanks to Uncle Jim and Aunt Judy and we surprised Brayden's Great-Grandpa (Laura's Mom's Dad) by showing up on Saturday afternoon on his doorstep! Jim and I planted Brayden on Grandpa's doorstep in his carseat, rang the doorbell, and then hid under the window! It was so much fun to see Grandpa's face when he opened the door! We are having a really great visit and can't wait to see the rest of our family up here! More to come, including the picture of Brayden on the doorstep and Grandpa opening the door!

He's so CHUBBY! :)! Look at that face :)!
