Camping Trip

We are leaving tonight for our camping trip on the Lake through the 4th of July! It's our last hoorah before Mike starts the academy, and our first camping trip with our little Brayden! So, sadly there wont be any posts for the next week and a half, but be prepared for plenty of pictures when we get back! Have a blessed week!

Father's Day

Happy (Late) Father's Day to our Dads, Grandpas, Brothers, and Friends! You all are WONDERFUL fathers and we are blessed to have you in our lives!

This was Mike's first Father's day with Brayden here in the flesh and we tried to make it a special and simple day for him :). We bought him a card, a shirt, and a new tape measure, in addition to making him a special "Best Dad in the World, Hands Down" shirt with Brayden's adorable little hand prints on it (not so easy with an 11 month old who has no concept of what we were doing!). We made him banana pancakes this morning, went to church, went fishing with his family (no luck) and then had a delicious BBQ with our next door neighbors and I bought one of Mike's favorite desserts, a Banana Split Ice Cream Cake :). We just enjoyed our time together as a family and celebrated what an awesome and godly husband and Daddy we have :)!

I unfortunately did not get any pics besides during fishing. But I am going to get Mike to put his shirt on again tomorrow to get a pic of him holding Brayden while wearing it :)!

Our Bedroom

Many of you have been asking for house pictures and here are some of our bedroom. I hate posting pictures of works in progress (which our entire house is) because I know its not what I want it to look like when I am done. I LOVE the progress we are making but it's not completely there yet! Here is our bedroom in the making...

We got a new bedroom set when we moved into our house and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It's my dream bedroom set and I couldnt be happier with it. The same goes with our bedding. I LOVE it. The color of our walls is exactly what Mike and I were going for, romantic and relaxing :). We are going to be doing crown molding, which is why the paint isnt all the way to the ceiling on the walls. Our curtains are still a work in progress too, they are new and we really like them, but they just need something to make them perfect. Overall we just want our room to be the two R's. Romantic and Relaxing and it's well on its way :). Enjoy the pics!

Lake Fun!

We went to the lake this afternoon with some family and friends and Brayden and I sat out the first "boat run" since there were so many people. So we went down to the shallow water and played :). I didnt get any smiling pictures of Brayden but he was having a blast! He kept splashing me and trying to pick up rocks :). Doesnt he look PRECIOUS in his life jacket? I love it!

Waterpark Fun Part 1

The kids that went to the waterpark, Dylan, (leftmost), and Darren (2nd from right) are our neighbors. Darren will be turning 10 in July and this was his birthday party :) Aren't they all so cute?

Entertainment

Brayden's new favorite toy is our entertainment center. He hasn't quite mastered pulling himself up on it yet, but he loves to try!

Wild Island Waterpark

Today, Mike, Brayden, and I went to Wild Island Waterpark in Sparks NV (about 2 hours away) with our neighbors/friends to celebrate one of their boy's 10th birthday! I kept going back and forth on whether or not we should go, mainly because I was worried about such a busy day for Brayden and not wanting him to be fussy or cranky the whole time. I am SO glad that we decided to go for it because we really could not have had a better day with Brayden and it's the most fun we have had in awhile! The park is big enough to keep you busy for the day, but small enough that it's easy to stick together and not get over-tired running around. For the early part of the day, Brayden and I hung out in the Kiddie pools which have various slides and sprayers and such. We've learned that Brayden doesnt like to get splashed unless he is the one doing the splashing, so mainly I just sat on he floor of the Kiddie Pool and let him "swim" with my help. We went down a couple slides together, which was a lot of fun! Thanks to going with our neighbors, Mike and I were able to go down some slides together, and also each of us with our friends while one or another person held and watched Brayden. Also, there is this awesome part of the park called the Lazy Lagoon where you can ride in a single or double intertube, and there are no rapids or splashing, you literally just float in a current that is just strong enoug hto push you along. Brayden and I floated in it for quite awhile in a single tube with him in my lap (in his lifevest) and it was a great cuddling time. Then he "swam" around it with Mike. I got some great shots of Mike and him playing in the Kiddie Pool and some other cool shots throughout the day that I will be putting up soon. Brayden fell asleep in his stroller towards the end of the day, and was seriously just a total gem the entire trip. We cant wait to take him when he is older! My favorite ride for the adult rides was called the Dragon Eye, where you ride with another person in a double tube through an enclosed slide, and then shoot into this bowl at the bottom where you circle 2-3 times until you get "flushed" out the bottom. It was a rush and I was glad to go 3 different times :). Now it's 10 at night, and I guess Brayden thinks he is a big boy for going to the waterpark, because he doesnt want to fall asleep :), goodnight everyone!

Bray in Action

Brayden loves it when I build towers with various kitchen containers and then let him knock them down. Sorry that I sound annoying in this video, but its so hard to get videos of him because he usually wants to grab the camera, and in this case, he can't waitto knock the tower down, so its usually a fight with him for me to even get the tower built in the first place :)

Non-Stop

That's how I feel like life has been lately. Non-stop and crazy busy. I do apologize for the lack of updates for those of you whom we don't live close too and who miss the daily adventures with Brayden! We have been so busy lately that I can't seem to catch my breath let alone update. With trying to get things in order for Mike to go to the Academy in less than a month, get all the stuff that we wanted to get done on the house before he starts the academy actually done, with Brayden doing his worming/crawling across the floor and getting into everything at lightening speed, having company, going on all day shopping trips, babysitting the neighborhood boys, keeping up with the dogs and the snake, as well as battling a few minor health issues on my part, having Brayden's room completely dismantled as we have been in the process of painting it and bordering it for about a week now and countless other stuff, I really haven't had the energy and discipline to keep the blog updated. I have been taking plenty of pictures, just havent loaded them on the computer. But we aren't going anywhere, and neither is the house :), so when I do get the chance to update it, I will. I will not be able to update it on any sort of regular basis, or as often as you all would like until after Mike joins the academy but I promise to at least get a few in. Can't wait to see many of you next month at Brayden's 1st Birthday Bash! We're throwing a Mickey Mouse Clubhoues Backyard BBQ! Hugs and Kisses and Lots of Love to all of you!
