Down for the count!

That's what we've been in the Kincaid Household for the last week and a half. We all came down with a pretty bad cold and have unfortunately been taking our time fighting it off completely. We seem to be on the road to recovery finally! Mike has about 6 weeks left in the Academy! He passed his PT Final today with flying colors and beat all his midterm records for the various physical tests! I am so so very PROUD of him! He's been doing great on all his tests and crime scene scenarios too which are both coming to a close this coming week. Then the rest of his time in the academy will be spent on the range doing shooting work, and on the driving course practicing with the cruisers! He is really looking forward to those things! Brayden is doing amazing! Aside from getting a cold and a bad cough, he is continuing to excel and grow so much into a little boy rather than a baby that it makes me smile and cry at the same time! He's doing great on his animal sounds practicing, moo, quack, and oink daily, and had got a pretty realistic "neigh"ing sound for a horse. I will try to catch a video of it. He's really enjoyed dancing lately as well and has amazing rhythm! He loves bobbing his head back and forth, getting his arms going and occasionally shaking that adorable booty! He's also signing and saying "more" almost perfectly, and just recently started signing "drink" as well. Daddy is his favorite person in the whole world right now, making him even more of a mini-Mike! He lights up the minute Mike walks through the door and wont leave him alone till its Brayden's bedtime. Mike and I have agreed this is our FAVORITE age so far as Brayden is just learning so much and has SUCH a hapy disposition! He is always laughing, talking, and smiling! He is quite the rabble rouser and wants to be in everything and doing everything he is not supposed too, constantly keeping me on my toes. He isn't the least bit interested in walking, though he loves cruising on the furniture, walking while holding our hands, and with his push toy. He loves to "cook" with Mommy and put all his alphabet letters in pots and pans and stir them with a wooden spoon and taste them and share them, which is so cute too! He's FINALLY going through a growth spurt and has roughly put on about 2.5 lbs in the last month or so! He's gone from two naps a day to one nap a day (about 2 hours) and sleeps anywhere from 11-13 hours a night! His favorite things right now are bathtime, he is such a little fish, and his blankies. He doesn't have one blankie that is his favorite but loves to cuddle them, lay on them, and hug them :)! He also HATES diaper changing time which is a battle! When he's eating, he attempts to say "cracker" a lot, and he says it with all types of food (bananas, apples, are all "crackers" to him). It's getting colder now, so not so many trips to the park but he continues his love for the swing and just recently started liking going down the slide with Mommy's help. He also loves to read and during his "quiet time" he will often sit in his crib and "read" books to himself :)! He's just such a doll and such a sweet little boy and Mike and I couldn't love him more, yet everyday we do :)! And I'm just plain ol' me! Taking care of the boys, trying to keep the upper hand on our house. The cold had me down and out for quite awhile and during my first day of really feeling "good" yesterday, I managed to fall fown our stairs (while holding Brayden). Brayden was completely unscathed thankfully, and I have some bruises and rugburn and sore spots today. God definetely had His hand on us! All three of us are looking forward to Halloween this year! Brayden is going to be a Pumpkin and looks SO cute in his costume, he loves the pumpkin hat and always brings it to me to put it on him! Tomorrow I am taking him around town for the "Merchant Trick or Treat" where all the stores hand out goodies for the kiddos, and Saturday Mike and I will be taking him trick or treating and to our church's Harvest Festival as well! Quite a lot of info in one post, but I've been feeling extremely guilty for not keeping you all up to date with us! I feel like I should update everyday as much as Brayden is doing these days ;)! Love to all!
